The ingredients in the collection are inspired by key elements of Chinese cuisine and culture, drawing on Natasha Thorpe’s heritage. White pepper is the dried, peeled ripened berry of the piper nigrum plant - the vine that produces black peppercorns. In Chinese cuisine, white pepper is a commonly used flavour filled with earthiness, umami, and a slow, lingering heat. The orange is a lucky symbol for lunar new year heralding good fortune for the year!
Ginger is a well beloved aromatic in Chinese cuisine, with its pungent aromatics and warming qualities. Almond signifies prosperity and good luck, an auspicious symbol for the new year! Pork floss is a popular condiment made from light, fluffy, seasoned sweet pork with a cottony texture. Commonly eaten with rice or congee. Goji berries, tangy, a bit bitter, sweet and sour are used in traditional Chinese medicine as well as many recipes. We hope you will enjoy this collection celebrating the Year of the Horse!
